Ear Coning
Ear coning, somtimes called ear candling, is an ancient process that was originally used in India, China, and Tibet over 3,000 years ago. Glazed pottery cones were used back then which had spirals carved inside the cone to create and inner clockwise spiral energy flow into the ear cavity; thus creating a counter-clockwise spiral energy, via a vacuum action by the cone. They also had a reverse spiral carved within, which created an energy which would draw out debris, such as ear wax, infection, parasites, as well as subtle emotional and physical disharmonies.
Today, the cone is rather unrefined which consists of strips of cotton dipped in wax, wound spirally, hardened, and held very gently to the ear creating a seal. The other end is burned to create the smoke containing spiral energy flowing into the ear to draw out debris. This begins the healing process.
The burning candle creates a gentle, soft flow of warmth and smoke flowing into the ear. This smoke dries out the ear and softens the old earwax and has a soothing efffect. Ear Coning is very relaxing, and non-invasive, and never does the tip of the candle or the ear get hot. The candle is burned only 3 to 4 inches from the ear. This procedure assists the body in it's own natural secretion process over a period of time. The client will hear a gentle crackling sound during the session which can be quite relaxing.
Benefits of ear coning
This procedure may relieve symptoms, soothe discomfort, and is very relaxing.
Ear coning can soften old ear wax and help to remove wax on it's own naturally.
It can help to clear out debris and earwax accumulated over many years.
Chronic sinus problems may be relieved.
May help stop itching or ringing in the ears, and some people claim to hear much better after 1 to 4 sessions.
This remedy should not substitute western medicine, but compliment it.
Millions of people have reported positive results.
When the ear coning is finished, your hearing may improve or your head may feel lighter, especially if a blockage of wax has moved inside your ear. Your ears could feel airy and more sensitive to subtle sounds and tones. You may even experience a greater sense of clarity and well-being. Making decisions could come to you more easily and quickly, as you may have a certain knowingness in your body, mind, and spirit. This could lead to a stronger connection to your inner voice. Although we can not make any guarantees or claims for results; millions of people have had relief of many kinds. (R. Sheppard, 2002)
